Job Description
Welding Engineer – Qualification Summary (5–7 Years Experience)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Experience: 5–7 years in welding engineering roles across construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or marine sectors.
- Skills:
- Proficient in welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW
- Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, API, ISO)
- Skilled in WPS/PQR development, welder qualification, and weld inspection techniques
- Fluent in English with excellent technical documentation and communication abilities
- Familiar with NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT) and weld defect analysis
- Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement welding procedures and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Supervise welding activities and coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections
- Conduct welder training and qualification tests
- Review technical drawings and support fabrication teams with welding-related guidance
